LangLearn with Claude
Connect your assistant. Create stories you can understand. Listen and learn.
LangLearn helps you learn a language with stories and audio matched to the words you know. Its Claude connector lets your assistant read your learning vocabulary and previous passages, then save new stories or audio lessons to LangLearn.
When you try to generate your first story in LangLearn, our setup wizard opens if you have not connected an AI assistant yet. It walks you through connecting Claude, then returns you to the story you were about to generate. You do not need to set up the connector before exploring the app.
Create your first story
- Open LangLearn and sign in. Choose your learning language and first language, and complete the setup offered by the app.
- Open your language’s playlists and choose Generate, then the story option to start your first-story flow.
- If no assistant is connected, follow our setup wizard and choose Claude. Read each screen and keep the LangLearn tab open while connecting.
- After the wizard confirms the connection, choose Next to return to your story-generation page. Set and save your story requirements, then follow the app’s handoff to Claude using the prompt it provides. That prompt carries your specific story requirements.
- Ask Claude to create and save the story. Once it is saved, return to LangLearn to find it in your library or playlist and read or listen to it.
If Claude is already connected, LangLearn takes you straight to generation without repeating the wizard.
Connect Claude
You need a LangLearn account with a learning language set up, and a Claude account that can use connectors. In a managed Claude organization, your administrator may need to enable the connector.
Open the full AI setup wizard, or go directly to the Claude setup instructions and the Claude connection step. These advance-setup links return to Settings; starting from Generate returns you to your generation request. If you are already connected, the setup links take you back to Settings.
Use the wizard’s add-connector link, then sign in to LangLearn with the same account you use in the app and allow the connection. The connector may appear in Claude as Language Learning. If Claude asks for the server address, use:
https://language-svr.ctoteachings.com/mcp
Return to the LangLearn tab and follow its connection check. If it has not noticed the connection yet, use the check-again control.
For administrators: the authorization page also offers “Access admin tools”, defaulted ON. Turn it OFF to use your own account with ordinary learner tools. This choice affects the connector, not your website admin access. Regular learners do not see this control.
Use the connector
Start new generation requests in LangLearn and use the prompt the app gives you. You can then ask Claude for changes such as:
- “Make this story about a train journey, while keeping my LangLearn vocabulary requirements.”
- “Read my previous LangLearn passages and continue the story with the same characters.”
- “Create and save an audio lesson for the words in this LangLearn request.”
Claude reads the allowed vocabulary and learning instructions, writes the material, and submits it to LangLearn. LangLearn validates submissions and produces their audio. If a submission is rejected, ask Claude to correct the reported problem; a response in chat alone does not mean the material has been saved.
Data and permissions
The learner connector can read your learning vocabulary, the learning context needed to write for your level, and your previous passages. It can write new stories and audio lessons to your signed-in LangLearn account. It does not give ordinary learners access to administrator tools or another learner’s private progress.
Claude processes the information returned by the tools under your account with Anthropic. LangLearn receives the material Claude submits and sends text to Google Cloud Text-to-Speech to create audio. Generated passages and audio are shareable content, not private notes; do not include confidential information. See the LangLearn privacy policy for data handling, and the Terms of Use for passage ownership and sharing.
Disconnect and troubleshoot
- Claude cannot find the tools: check that the connector is enabled in Claude and connected to the same LangLearn account. Return to the wizard’s connection step if setup is incomplete.
- Setup says you are already connected: open LangLearn Settings to check your recorded connection. Existing connections skip the setup wizard.
- You want to disconnect or reconnect: disconnect/delete the connector in Claude’s connector management, and update the connection in LangLearn Settings. Reconnect through the wizard when ready. Administrators change the admin-tools choice by disconnecting and reconnecting; each new authorization defaults ON.
- A story is missing: ask Claude whether LangLearn accepted the save, then refresh the relevant library or playlist. A failed validation needs a corrected submission.
Disconnecting does not delete saved passages or your LangLearn account. For account and data deletion, follow the account deletion instructions.
