Delete Your LangLearn Account

Last updated: 12 September 2026

This page explains how to have your account and data deleted from LangLearn, the language-learning app published by CTO Teachings. It applies to the Android app, the iOS app, and the website the app is built on, language.ctoteachings.com. It sits alongside the LangLearn privacy policy.

How to Request Deletion

There is no in-app delete button today, so requests are handled by email. To have your account and learning data deleted:

  1. Send an email to [email protected] with the subject line "LangLearn account deletion request". If you would rather message us, send the same request on Telegram to @europeandean.
  2. Send it from the email address you signed in with (or, on Telegram, tell us that address). That is how we confirm the request is yours — we cannot delete an account on the word of a different address.
  3. Say whether you want everything deleted, or only part of it (for example, your saved passages but not your account).
  4. Wait for our confirmation. We reply to confirm we have received the request, and again once the deletion has been carried out.

You can also reach us through our contact page if you prefer a form; put "LangLearn account deletion request" in the message and use the address you signed in with.

How Long It Takes

We action deletion requests within 30 days of verifying the request, and usually much sooner. Backup copies of our databases are overwritten on a rolling basis and any residual copy is gone within 90 days.

What Gets Deleted

When you ask us to delete your account, we delete:

  • your account record — the email address, Google account identifier, display name, and profile picture URL we received from Google Sign-In;
  • your learning profile — the language you are learning, your native language, your word level, and how many new words you asked to be introduced;
  • your word progress — every word you have marked known, learning, or unknown;
  • your library and playlists — the playlists you created, their names and ordering, and the pointers that mark which passages are yours;
  • any unsupported-language request you sent us, which is stored against your email address.

Deleting the app from your device also removes everything LangLearn stored locally: the sign-in token held in the device keystore, and any passage text or audio downloaded for offline listening.

What Is Kept, and Why

  • Passages you published to the shared catalogue may remain, with your account no longer attached to them. LangLearn's catalogue is shared between learners, and other learners may have those passages in their own playlists. If you want a specific passage removed as well, name it in your request and we will remove it.
  • Error and crash reports already sent to our error-reporting provider (Sentry) expire on that provider's own retention schedule — on the order of weeks to months — rather than being individually retrievable. These reports do not carry your name, email, or account identifier from the app's native shell.
  • Server request logs (IP address, app version, which endpoint was called) are kept for a short period for security and debugging and then age out.
  • Anything we are legally required to retain, for as long as the law requires it.

Deleting Some Data Without Deleting Your Account

You do not have to close your account to remove data. Ask us at the same address and name what you want removed — for example your saved passages, a playlist, or your word progress — and we will delete just that and leave the account working.
